The apartment

A one-bedroom apartment on London City Island, the gated riverside quarter at Leamouth where the River Lea meets the Thames, ten minutes on foot from Canning Town and two stops from Canary Wharf. A double bedroom and a sofa bed that comfortably sleeps two make it a practical base for a couple, a small family or a pair of colleagues on a project — with a full kitchen, a proper living room and every bill contained in the rate.

What you get

The apartment is arranged over a single floor. The bedroom holds a double bed dressed in French linen with hotel-weight towels, and the open-plan living and dining room takes a sofa bed that sleeps a further two in comfort, giving a total capacity of four. Floor-to-ceiling windows run along two sides, and the balcony looks out over the water to Canary Wharf.

The kitchen is fully equipped for genuine cooking rather than reheating: hob and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee machine, with cookware, knives, crockery, glassware and cutlery to match. The living room has a smart television with Netflix and the other streaming services already signed in, and high-speed broadband runs throughout the apartment and is active the moment you arrive.

London City Island is a quiet, self-contained neighbourhood — its own cafes, a supermarket, riverside walks and the English National Ballet on the doorstep, with Trinity Buoy Wharf a short stroll along the Thames. The red footbridge puts Canning Town ten minutes away, and from there the Jubilee line reaches Canary Wharf in four minutes, Stratford in seven and London Bridge in fifteen.

Reservations made directly with Prime Host may be cancelled without charge until 48 hours before check-in, and dates may be amended without charge within the same period subject to availability. Stays of 28 nights or more require 7 days’ notice by email. Reservations made through Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo are governed by that platform’s policy.
